WHY IT’S NEVER BEEN A BETTER TIME TO VISIT INDIA!

India is perhaps the most colourful, cacophonic and geographically diverse country in the world. From the sun-drenched jungles and beaches of Goa in the south, to the sparse beauty of Rajasthan’s northern deserts, there’s so much to explore.

MAKE WAVES IN GOA

Mr. Chan and Ms. Wan from Malaysia

This was the first trip to Goa for my wife and I and we stayed at Royal Haathi Mahal Resort from 16 to 23 January 2016. It was truly a pleasant stay as all the staff were courteous and met our every need with a smile on their faces.

The week passed by quickly when there were much to explore. We had a day on the cruise and had expected to see dolphins but as the weather was cloudy, the dolphins did not show up and we were a bit disappointed. However, when we walked on the beach near the resort the next day, we were greeted with a pair of dolphins and they kept us entertained for a while. It really made our day!! Like often blesses us with unexpected surprises. Walking on the beach in the morning had also been therapeutic for the soul.

Another day was spent at the Old Goa Church and we were marvelled at the rich history of this Church. Panjim City is beautiful in its own way and we made some purchases of Goa's famous cashew nuts here. We experienced the hustle bustle of North Goa and were also enthralled by the pristine beaches of Palolena and Agonda.

Goan food were second to none and we had sumptuous treats of prawn curry, beef and chicken masala, fish steak and prawn sizzlers as well as mouthwatering desserts like custard caramel and brownies with ice cream and not forgetting the infamous cashew feni.

Some days, we just lazed in the resort and had our dip in the pools. The swim had been refreshing and invigorating. We had made many new friends from around the globe and some had become more than acquaintances. The resort is self-contained and whatever we wanted could be purchased from the in-house convenient store.

Overall, it was indeed a memorable and unforgettable experience in Goa and we are already planning our next holiday to India soon

JAIPUR – THE GATEWAY TO RAJASTHAN

JAIPUR – THE GATEWAY TO RAJASTHAN

Amid the desert scrub of India’s north sits a gleaming pink gem – the city of Jaipur, gateway to Rajasthan. Once the home of kings, the city now epitomizes the culture of India’s most colourful – and indeed most historical – state. Stroll the charmingly frenetic streets and savour the rich history of the area with a visit to the Amber Fort – Jaipur’s star attraction.

Originally built as a small family palace during the 18th-century golden age of the Maharajas, Karma Haveli combines a wonderfully historic look and feel with the luxury and convenience of 21st-century home comforts.

Mr. and Mrs. Hewett from Auckland

At the end of 2015 we went to India for the first time, which was very exciting! We spent New Year week at one of the Royal Resorts in Goa, beautiful white sand beaches, warm seas & colourful Portuguese buildings.

From there we travelled north to Jaipur, a city of wonderful architecture, & the noisiest place we have ever been! In Jaipur we visited ‘’Elefantastic’’, probably the best elephant park we have seen. There we fed, watered & even painted our elephant, and had lunch in one of the Mahout’s homes, which was very special.

After lunch we rode our elephant into the Rajasthan desert, Mahout-style –directly on the elephant’s back. It was an incredible experience.

Thank you Karma!

KERALA – WHERE NATURE AND MYTH INTERTWINE

KERALA – WHERE NATURE AND MYTH INTERTWINE

There is a myth that an axe-wielding warrior sage named Parashurama, the sixth avatar of the Hindu god, Vishnu, clawed the land of Kerala back from the clutches of the hungry sea. Now, Kerala is a verdant land of golden beaches, high peaks and warm tropical sun. No visit to Kerala would be complete without sampling the region’s distinctive cuisine, where spices have been grown and used in cooking for millennia.

Nestled on the palm-fringed shores of Kerala’s largest lake, Vembanad, Karma Chakra is your idyllic Keralan boutique retreat. Wake in the morning to a view of the lake, step outside and explore this rich and verdant region.

Mr. and Mrs. Holstein from Australia

After 4 days spent relaxing in the sleepy backwater of Kerala at Royal Grove, my family and I are feeling like a million dollars. We arrived after a very long journey from Milan and soon settled into the resort life. The ayurvedic treatments at the spa were world-class and in a beautiful setting.

The accommodation itself was very spacious and comfortable. Room service were attentive and generally speaking all the staff went a very long way to make us welcome. Our daughter enjoyed activities provided by the resort and it was a great forum for making friends.

Whilst at the resort, the reception desk arranged a local village tour by canoe, which was part of a sustainable tourism initiative. It was incredibly memorable and a great way to gain an insight into village life. We saw a whole array of local craft making and were invited into homes and shown around gardens where all sorts of spices and fruits were growing.

The restaurant offered a good variety of foods and the breakfast buffet had ample selection, including eggs any which way cooked to order.

We really enjoyed our stay and thank the staff for all their efforts. Look forward to returning!
